Choose Wisely tops 2,000,000 eggs

Choose Wisely has topped more than 2 million cage-free eggs thanks to the Rydges Hotels Group in the ACT, the latest business to register.

The RSPCA would like to thank Rydges and all other businesses that have supported this campaign so far. In just over six months we have signed up 53 businesses throughout Australia. From major hotels to the smallest café, each and every one of these businesses is making a tangible difference to the welfare of hens.

Pat McKenna, General Manager of Rydges Lakeside said "Rydges is very supportive of Choose Wisely. Rydges will be using a mixture of free-range and barn-laid eggs, which in our opinion produce superior tasting products. We are very keen to show our customers a commitment to animal welfare through our range of breakfast and conference packages."

Businesses and consumers are sending a clear message – keeping hens in cages is cruel and alternatives are available and accessible.
